Samena Squares Newsletter #17

Dear Friends,

Welcome back Susanne! Thanks for teaching Walk Around Your Corner and See Saw. Good job!

We are getting down to the last few weeks of class. There are seven more classes counting graduation night. I’m going to plan to finish the teaching in five weeks so that we have a couple of weeks to practice. More practice always helps!

After graduation there will be workshops until the Thursday before Memorial Day. I like to start at the end of the list with the calls that we have learned last to build up more floor time and experience. I hope you will plan to come as often as possible to solidify your learning.

Below is a new dance opportunity, a party dance that I am calling. If you can come, please let me know.

A HUGE thank you to all the angels who stayed late to dance for Susanne. Calling to live dancers is invaluable to a new caller. We both really appreciate it. Thank you!

Have a great week!

Happy dancing,
Susan

Week #17
28. Walk Around The Corner: Dancers face their corners. Walking forward and around each other while keeping right shoulders adjacent, dancers return to their original position, with their backs toward their corner. WALK AROUND THE CORNER – 8 steps

29. See Saw: Each dancer walks forward and around their partner keeping left shoulders adjacent, then steps forward to face the corner. This is not a DOSADO. SEE SAW – 8 steps.

1. Cloverleaf: Turn away from partner, walk in 270-degree circle to face adjacent wall to where you started. Like a four-leaf clover or a highway cloverleaf. CLOVERLEAF – 6-8 steps from a completed DOUBLE PASS THRU

10. Cast off 3/4: In a mini-wave using your joined hands, turn 3/4. In a line the center dancers walk forward using your joined hands as a pivot 3/4 or 3 walls or 5 steps. CAST OFF 3/4 – 6 steps.
