Cascade Crossfires Newsletter #7

Dear Friends,

I love Monday nights! It was great to see everyone! If you are traveling for the holiday weekend, travel safe!

One of the calls that we learned is Peel The Top. It combines two other Plus calls,
Peel Off and Fan the Top. If you are not confident of either of those definitions review the definitions. Don’t forget that after the Peel Off that the Leaders do there is a momentary Ocean Wave before the Centers do the Fan the Top.

If you are not sure how to know if you are a Leader or a Trailer, ask me Monday night and we will review it for everyone.

Monday is a dance to get more floor time with the 19 calls that we know so far. If we need to review, we will. Mostly, we will dance.

Dates to note:
Monday, November 27, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Workshop Extravaganza. This is a Plus Level Dance. The Awesome Plus workshop is from 6:30 -7:00 p.m.

Monday, December 18, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Christmas Extravaganza. This is a Plus Level Dance and Christmas Party. The Awesome Plus workshop is from 6:30 -7:00 p.m.

Saturday, December 23, 7:30 – 10:00 p.m., Holiday Plus Dance Party hosted by the Cascade Crossfires, Susan Morris, calling and Roxanne Boelter, cueing. This dance will be at the Juanita Community Club, 13027 100th Ave NE, Kirkland.

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! Have a great rest of your weekend!

See you Monday!

Happy dancing,

Week #7
10. Track II: Starting formation - Completed Double Pass Thru.

The dancers work in "tandem", that is, the trailing dancers follow the lead dancers. Those in the right "track" move single file to the left, counter-clockwise, staying to the inside of the dancers on the left "track", who move single file, clockwise, to the right on the outside. The movement continues as in a Double Pass Thru, until the dancers have reached parallel right-hand ocean waves.

TRACK II – 8 steps

17. Peel The Top: Starting formation - box circulate or Z-Formation.

The lead dancers PEEL OFF as the trailing dancers step straight forward and take adjacent hands; everyone then does a FAN THE TOP.

PEEL THE TOP – 6 steps

27. Dixie Grand: Starting formation - Dixie Grand Circle, Double Pass Thru, Quarter Tag, or any formation where at least two dancers can start.

Those who can, start the call by joining right hands with the facing dancer and pulling by. Each dancer moves ahead around the circle and gives a left hand to the next, pulling by, and a right hand to the next, pulling by. Regardless of the starting formation, as the movement progresses, the formation converts to a circle.
